June 10th:  'A Gracious Attitude'  Dr Crawford Loritts
    Text: Romans 14:1-23

Memory Verse: Romans 12:1 "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship."

Key Principle: Every follower of Jesus Christ is given the high, noble calling to serve...but it's "pricey"!

1. We Are Accountable To God Romans 14:1-12
Key Distinction: Truth or Conviction v.1

A. We Are At Different Places v.2-3
B. We All Belong To God v.4
C. We Should Not Violate Our Conscience v.5
D. Our Lifestyle Should Demonstrate The Lordship Of Christ v.6-9
E. Only God Sits In The Seat Of Judgment v.10-12

2. We Are Responsible To Each Other Romans 14:13-23
Key Distinction: Hindrance or Help v.13

A. You Are More Important Than My Personal Freedom v.14-15
(1) Where You Are Is More Important Than Where I Am v.14
(2) Love Is More Important Than My Liberty v. 15
B. My Heart Intentions Should Govern The Expression Of My Freedoms v.16
Relationships v.17-23
(1) Kingdom Values v.17-19
"Righteousness"
"Peace"
"Joy In The Holy Spirit"
(2) Kingdom Perspective v.20-23

Here's What We Need To Remember And Do Today: Make a clear distinction between what is true for every follower of Jesus Christ and what is a personal conviction for you... Before you exercise a particular freedom be aware of those around you and ask yourself, "Is what I am about to do honoring the 'law of love'?"
