Bob Roland Family Ministries Pastor
Bob is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. He is one of the founding pastors of Fellowship Bible Church and Fellowship Christian Schools, having ministered to families there for many years. Prior to founding Fellowship, Bob was part of the founding team of Walk Through the Bible, has lead tours to the Holy Land and was the Pastor of Christian Education at 1st Federated Church of Des Moines, Iowa. As Family Ministries pastor, Bob advises Children's Ministry and serves on the Leadership Team. Bob is a pastoral counselor, a popular conference speaker, and teaches classes on parenting and marriage.
He and his wife Jeanne live in Woodstock and have three adult children.
Bob's passion is to assist people in embracing a Christ-like way of life, especially as it relates to family and marriage issues.
Dee Goar Counselor, Fellowship Counseling LLC
Dee is a licensed, professional counselor with a Masters Degree in counseling, and joined the staff of FBC in 1995 with a long list of credentials.
Before moving to Atlanta, she was the Director of Bergamo Counseling Center in Dayton, Ohio and prior to that served as the Director of the Women's Crisis Center and on the clinical faculty of Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. She was a therapist with Alpha Care Christian Therapy Service here in Atlanta from 1989 to 1997.
Dee is a conference speaker, does occasional programs for Christian radio, and, with Bob, teaches Adult Electives here at FBC. She and her husband, Larry, have three adult children.
Larry Goar Stephen Ministry - High Capacity Volunteer
Larry received his BA degree in Accounting from Florida State University and his MBA degree in Industrial Management from Ohio State University. He joined the Fellowship staff in 1991 as the Church Business Administrator. After ten years in that position, he spent two years writing church policies and facilitating leadership development. He was on the Guiding Elder Board at Fellowship for eight years. In 2003, Larry was ordained to begin a Care Ministry, and after leading that ministry for a number of years, Larry now volunteers his experience and time as the Director of Stephen Ministry.
Prior to joining the staff at Fellowship, Larry was a Colonel in the United States Air Force where he was responsible for administering civilian contracts for the Department of Defense. He lives in Marietta with his wife Dee and has three adult children. His passion is to encourage the church to not only spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, but to love and care for one another so that no one at Fellowship Bible Church ever hurts alone.
Marilyn Shinn Family Ministry Coordinator
Marilyn Shinn is delighted to assist Bob, Dee, and Larry as the Family Ministry Coordinator, and to greet those who come through Family Ministry's doors. Marilyn and her husband Ladd have attended Fellowship since 1988. She graduated from Northwest Nazarene College and taught several years in public schools before raising a son and daughter - now married adults. She worked in Children's Ministry at Fellowship several years as Elementary Coordinator. For ten years she taught English composition and grammar to home schooled students. She has been Family Ministry Coordinator since January, 2004. Marilyn is happy to be working in a caring ministry; her role includes being a Stephen Leader; she matches Stephen Ministers with those requesting Stephen Ministry care.
Cindy Spitler Family Ministry Administrative Assistant
Family ministry provides counseling and support for church members who would like help when they experience challenges in life. Cindy provides administrative support to the family ministry staff. If you would like to schedule a counseling appointment or learn more about support groups offered at FBC, please contact Cindy at 770-641-5623.
Cindy and her husband Paul have two sons. They began attending FBC in 2005.
Matt Farlow Spiritual Life Pastor
Matt serves Fellowship as Spiritual Life Pastor, seeking to provide adults in all stages of life a range of venues for spiritual growth. Fellowship's "North Star" vision (to present everyone mature in Christ) is for all people, men and women, married and single, young and old. As a result Matt oversees the Welcoming and Connecting ministry to ensure they are working toward that vision.
Prior to coming to Fellowship, Matt served as a lead pastor at Crossroads Church in Ruston, Louisiana (a church plant of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas). He also served as the Pastor of Church Life at Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas. His educational background includes a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas, a MBA from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and a BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas (whoop!) The joys of his life are his wife, Jennifer (also a Texas native), and their three daughters, Ellie, Chloe and Emma.
